Okay, after a couple of days of playing around with the new iPhone apps, here are my picks for the best and worst ones. So far, my picks are limited to free ones, but I will also mention a few pay ones that look tempting enough to plunk down some coin for soon.

Favorites so far:

AirMe. While it's always been possible to take a picture with the camera and e-mail it to update it to Flickr, this is the easiest way to snap pics and have them automagically appear.

I know I've seen a lot of horror stories on the Web in the past few days regarding the latest update to the iPhone; people couldn't download the updates, couldn't get new phones, couldn't activate, MobileMe was sluggish, the iPhone drank the last beer in the fridge, etc. But somehow I managed to have a pleasant experience, so I figured I'd share my non-horror tale.

Sites for developers and designers

There are two kinds of Mac users; those who jump on a new OS release the second it's available, and those who decide to let the others test the waters for them before jumping in. Me, I've always been in the day-it-comes-out camp. So for the benefit of those who are on the sidelines, here is my initial review; a longer, more in-depth review will come soon.

Well, the 'big' announcement finally came, and although there weren't any huge surprises, there were some interesting little tidbits that slipped by. I'm going to gloss over (har) the normal stuff you'll see everywhere else, and cover the little-mentioned items...
